Doc North is a not-for-profit organisation here to empower and strengthen working-class documentary makers and storytellers in the North of England.
Research shows that only 8% of people working in film and television self-define as working-class, compared to 45-50% of the population.
Doc North exists to support talent from working-class backgrounds, providing space and opportunities for regional storytelling to exist and thrive.
We’re always up for collaborating with others who are passionate about creating change. From hosting special screenings to collaborating with digital platforms, the impact of what we can create is endless. Please reach out if our mission resonates with you!
Stay in the loop.
" I fully support Doc North's commitment to increase inclusiveness in the industry for communities like ours. I look forward to seeing what Doc North will accomplish. "

" One of the highlights has been getting to share my film to an audience in a cinema in front of industry professionals. It’s rare you get that sort of opportunity and the screening caught the attention of a talent manager at Disney. "
